As the first Supreme Master of the Kai Order, Lone Wolf has forged as many traditions as he has preserved. While many of the Order’s time-honored doctrines remain intact, some have been modified to allow for greater personal choice—such as the rank-specific colors of cloaks for formal events. One notable change is the adoption of personalized crests by the Kai Grand Masters. These brooches display a unique icon, chosen by each Grand Master, which holds particular significance to the wearer.

The most notable of these personal crests is Lone Wolf’s own—a wolf’s head in profile against a white field, encircled by an ornate sunburst of gold and bronze rays. Originally intended as a piece worn only by him, the Lone Wolf brooch has unofficially become a second emblem of the Order, with many Kai adopting it as part of their uniform.

These brooches are crafted by skilled Loyals at both Monasteries, but on the Isle of Lorn, something extraordinary has occurred. The power of the Shianti has infused the metals used in their creation. While this gives the crests a distinctive matte luster, the Kai Lords of Lorn Monastery who wear them claim to hear the Isle’s protective mists “singing” in the quiet of the night.
