A diplomatic mission to the court of Xo-lin has been disrupted by news of an invasion force from the neighboring nation of Bhanar. Its evil Autarch, Sejanoz, has launched a devastating assault on Xo-lin's realm. With the ancient tyrant’s armies swarming across his borders, the embattled Khea-khan of Chai is forced to flee his imperial palace and seek sanctuary in the distant city of Tazhan. If he is caught and slain before he can reach safety, all of Chai will burn!
In THE HUNGER OF SEJANOZ, your mission is to escort the aged emperor Xo-lin and his entourage across the Great Lissanian Plain to Tazhan. Along the way, many dangers will rise against you. Will you succeed in getting Xo-lin to safety, or will you and your charges fall victim to the dark powers and sinister treachery of the Autarch?
To have this book published in 1998, Joe Dever was forced into an uncomfortable compromise - the publisher would only print the book if it contained 300 sections. Thus, the book has never felt complete. This Collector's Edition contains 50 new sections written by Vincent Lazzari and Ben Devere, bringing the book up to 350 sections - as it always should have been.
The original map was an erroneous duplicate of the map in Vampirium, but this edition contains a beautiful piece of original cartography from the inimitable Francesco Mattioli. And, of course, another masterpiece from cover artist Albert Dal Lago. The dream team is back at it again.
This edition also contains a fantastic new Bonus Adventure - THE EDGE OF NIGHT by August Hahn, illustrated by Koa. For many years, you have been bound to the will of Sejanoz. With his death, your mind has been freed, but your torment has only just begun. The True, blood disciples of Naar are already vying for power in the absence of the Autarch. Can you survive long enough to escape the capital and rescue your son?

In 2007, the Collector's Edition of Flight From The Dark was released by Mongoose Publishing. These editions worked their way through three publishers before finally ending up in the hands of Joe Dever himself under the imprint Holmgard Press. Ben Devere took over Holmgard Press following his father's death and, since then, has been completing the Collector's Editions - beginning with Book 23: Mydnight’s Hero in April 2019.

With the publication of Book 28, the Collector's Edition project is finally complete - fifteen years since it began. It marks the end of an era. We cannot wait to see shelfies from the patient and loyal Wolfpack members that have stuck with this project over the years as it was passed from publisher to publisher. Many lost faith, many more did not.

Only 1,000 copies of each Collector's Edition title from Holmgard Press were ever printed. Those titles (Books 23-27) are now down to the final few dozen. We expect these Collector's Editions to be sold out within a few weeks.

Book 28 will be no different. We will only print 1,000. If you wish to complete your Collector's Edition shelf, this is your last chance before you're at the mercy of eBay sellers.

From here on, we will publish exclusively in the Definitive Format. If you don't wish to purchase Book 28 in this smaller, older (and frankly less excellent) format, be assured that the Definitive Edition version will be released in its turn, within the next few of years.
